The Midlothian Business Development Programme (MBDP), developed by Midlothian Council, provides a range of business advice, grant and loan assistance in order to encourage innovation, new business development and growth.
There are two types of funding supported by the MBDP:

Business Grants Local growing businesses and/ or businesses relocating to Midlothian may be eligible for a grant towards investment costs.  Businesses must have been operating for at least one year and employ a minimum of three people.

Midlothian Small Business Enterprise Fund (MSBEF) Interest free loans for businesses may be available to eligible micro businesses to assist with the costs of starting up in business, developing new products, relocating or fitting out premises or purchase of new machinery or equipment.
