Edinburgh Science Triangle
The Technopole is part of The Edinburgh Science Triangle, a federation of local science parks and associated manufacturing parks that gain synergy by working together for the betterment of the science community in Edinburgh and Lothians.
Other members include Heriot-Watt Research Park, BioCampus, Roslin BioCentre and Pentlands Science Park. It has a total of over 100 occupiers with over 4,100 employees on 370,000 square metres of build, putting it in the top 20 largest science parks in the world.
There is considerable and growing competition for Science park occupiers in almost all areas of science and technology. There are established standards for science parks and various league tables rank the parks. Research indicates that The Edinburgh Science Triangle can be defined in WORLD CLASS terms in all the main league table criteria being in the top quartile for:
- Physical Infrastructure
- Management Assistance
- Size
- Longevity
- Build Area
- Number of occupiers
- Number of Employees
- Distance from City Centre and Airport
- City name recognition
The main aims are to provide occupiers with:
- Infrastructure for research, acquisition, development, manufacturing and marketing of high quality products and services
- Top quality accommodation and services that will enable them to achieve their business missions without property infrastructure worries
- The market image that will support occupiers in attracting personnel and funding
